Synopsis:
The Fórum CCNTs Live addressed the key challenges and opportunities related to Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (CCNTs) in Brazil this year. Moderated by Mark Barone, PhD, General Coordinator of Fórum CCNTs, the discussion featured insights from Tatiana Toporcov (Faculty of Public Health – USP), Luis Gustavo Kiatake (SBIS – Brazilian Society of Health Informatics), Alberto José N. Ogata, MD, PhD (Fundação Getúlio Vargas), and Priscila Torres (Biored Brasil). The panel highlighted several priorities:
✔ Expanding telehealth to increase access to the SUS and ensure comprehensive, high-quality care.
✔ Implementing rapid tests in Primary Care and digitizing data for epidemiological purposes.
✔ Promoting equity by addressing Social Determinants of Health, such as food, housing, transportation, access to clean water, and safety.
✔ Encouraging intersectoral collaboration, bringing together civil society, the scientific community, individuals with CCNTs, governments, and the production chain to support SUS in fulfilling its principles, promoting health and well-being, and shaping public policies
