Synopsis:
Questions and Answers in Nutrition – Health Promotion and Prevention originates from the Center for Recovery and Nutritional Education (CREN).
The book aims to guide, create procedures, and standardize nutritional care for children, adolescents, and adults.
Through colloquial, concise, and direct language, the editors and authors develop their teaching approach. They also use the didactic method of questions and answers, crafted in light of the interaction between specialists and primary care professionals, especially community agents.
The book presents four sections:
1. The First Thousand Days
2. Primary Nutritional Deviations in Childhood and Adolescence
3. Obesity and Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases
4. Nutrition in Special Conditions
It promotes health preservation and disease prevention, emphasizing the importance of healthy dietary habits, physical activity, and abstaining from smoking and alcohol use—the trio that shapes the state of health.
Its target audience includes Nutritionists and Nutritional Doctors, undergraduate students, and professionals working in Primary Health Care, who are often responsible for conducting Nutritional Education groups and Nutrition workshops, as well as those working in outpatient care and home visits.
